Rioting against health care reform

By all accounts, many if not most of the rioters were elderly. So we have the spectacle of Medicare recipients rioting against government intervention in health care.

The question now is, what is the political impact of all this. Will there be a political backlash against the rioters and those who egged them on? Has the prospect of reform been strengthened? Or is thuggishness going to work as a political tactic?

Actually, I have no idea. I predict, however, that a number of commentators will blame the violence on … Democrats.
