Secretary Sebelius on Healthcare Technology

Secretary Sebelius toured Omaha's Alegent Health Lakeside Hospital to see how one hospital is using health information technology.

Imagine going to a doctor's office or hospital and they have your complete medical records - all the tests you have taken, and all prior conditions.

Another benefit of a national database is that it would reveal the efficacy of drugs used in treating patients across the entire population. Imagine medical care for everyone that is this streamlined and efficient. It sure would raise the bar for what we consider to be the best possible care.
