HealthCare.gov has launched its consumer website for people and businesses seeking information on the new state health-insurance marketplaces.
The marketplaces are a key part of the federal health care reform plan. The U.S. government site, www.healthcare.gov, has a guide for commonly asked questions such as:
- What if I have job-based insurance?
- What if I have a pre-existing condition?
- How can I get coverage at lower costs?
- What do small businesses need to know?
- What if I'm self-employed?
The
site also has a Spanish-language version and offers information contact
numbers in French, Creole, German, Gujarati, Hindi, Korean, Mandarin,
Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Tagalog and Vietnamese.
Enrollment
will begin Oct. 1, when the site will open for applications. Coverage
starts in January. Open enrollment closes March 31.
